Hurricane Ike

What’s it like to survive a category 2 hurricane in the 4th largest city?

Seven days with no power was no fun!  No lights, no TV, no computer, no warm shower, no coffee, no laundry, no banks, no restaurants, no groceries, and most frightening of all, NO GAS!  Long lines and broken glass everywhere, FEMA confused, city officials frustrated, and CURFEWS STRICTLY ENFORCED!

It seems insignificant now but the most frightening part was how quickly the radio and mainstream media swept this DISASTER under the rug…  I guess not enough people were killed?
